Food poisoning occurs when you ingest something contaminated by certain bacteria, viruses, parasites, allergens, molds, toxins or other contaminants. Some of the better known pathogens include campylobacter, e.coli 0157:H7, Hepatitus A and salmonella, though hundreds of such infectious agents are known. Symptom onset can range from as little as 1 hour to multiple weeks, depending upon the infectious agent. Common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarhea, fever, stomach cramps and stomach pain. If you experience symptoms of food poisoning, you should contact your doctor immediately.
If you believe your food poisoning was caused by a third party, you should contact the public health department in your area to report the incident.
After contacting the public health department you should also contact Michael’s Law Firm at 647-495-8995 to discuss your case with our personal injury lawyer Michael Lesage.
